“THE RIVER OF LIFE”
WELCOME TO 11-22 March 2019
At the UN headquarters in New York, contemporary artist Olga Kondratskaya presented her exhibition, The River of Life.
On Monday, March 11, with the assistance of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine, the exhibition of contemporary art “River of Life” by Ukrainian artist Olga Kondratskaya opened at the UN headquarters. The opening ceremony was attended by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Vladimir Elchenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalia Fedorovich, representatives of the UN Secretariat and members of the diplomatic corps.
“It is symbolic to hold this exhibition at the UN ahead of World Water Day, which is celebrated annually on March 22. Such an event is important for Ukraine precisely in the context of attracting international attention to the problem of water resources, not only in our country, but around the world, ”said the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Vladimir Yelchenko.
Presenting her exposition, Olga Kondratskaya drew attention to the problem of increasing water levels in the oceans, drying out of rivers and lakes, and lack of drinking water. According to the artist, it was these problems that inspired her to create a thematic collection. The River of Life collection contains over a hundred paintings. These are beautiful phenomena and moments of Nature seen, felt and transferred to the canvas. And at the same time – a reminder to contemporaries: you should try very hard to preserve the beauty and purity of our beautiful blue planet for posterity. With the help of her art, she seeks to draw the attention of the international community to the global problem of water resources. The exposition is dedicated to World Water Day, which is celebrated on March 22.
